An interactive story with my children.

Once there was a box. It was sitting in the ground. Many people walked passed and chose to ignore it.

I then turned to my daughter and asked her what she would do. She said that she would ignore it too. Later she changed her mind and wanted to pick it up. At this time, I told her that she had gone for a half hour and would now need to retrace her steps. It would then take her 45 minutes to find the box again. I asked her, “What is the color of the box?”

She said, “Rainbow”.

She then picks up the box but it was sealed and had to align the color according to the rainbow. She remembered seeing this in Playhouse Disney and said, “Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple”.

With that she managed to open the box and found a big crystal with a ring attached to it. I asked her if she would wear the ring but warned her that the ring may be cursed. She hesitated and finally said that she would keep the box and throw away the ring. She later decided to wait for her brother to see what he would do.

When my son joined us. I started the story over but the sister gave away all the parts of the story so the brother immediately picked up the box and opened it. He then put on the ring.

Immediately, he is transported to a planet made out of ice cream. I asked him what he would do then. He said he will eat up all the ice cream but his sister protested and warned him against doing that since that will leave him in space.

I told him that after eating four bowls of ice cream, he would have a tummy ache. I asked him, what he will do then. He asked about the toilet on the planet. I told him everything was made of ice cream. However, I also told him that the ring was in tune with whatever he thinks. Since, he was thinking of the toilet, he was immediately transferred to a planet consisting of only toilets.

They both laughed and he said that he will transfer back and forth between the two planets to have his fill of ice cream. At this point, my daughter regretted not wearing the ring and asked for a second chance in the story to wear the ring. So she did and said that she thought of Earth so nothing happened.

At this point, I told them the bad news. The ring is stuck with them forever and cannot be removed. Also, it will transfer them to the planet made out of anything they think of. Imagine if you have a stomachache and think of poop, you will immediately be sent to a planet made of that stuff or think of fried chicken and be sent to a planet made of fried chicken and end up being fried with it. This was when both realized the consequence.
