It all comes down to one bullet…
James and Robert were flying to California, chatting to each other, in expensive suites. They weren’t going on a holiday, or a business trip. They were assassins. James was experienced; this was Roberts’s first assignment. They were flying to California for a briefing on their next mission; they wanted to meet in person. So, here they are, ready to prepare for their next mission.
Their plane touched down back to earth; they collected their luggage and ordered a taxi to the location of the briefing. The place they were meant to go was the 17th floor, room 9 of an expensive hotel. They had no idea why it was a hotel, maybe so they couldn’t track back to them.
They went to the location, knocked on the door and were let in. They introduced themselves, with fake names. They called themselves Ben and Zac. Robert, being new to the job, was shaky with fear. James was confident; having does this so many times.
“Hello gentlemen”. He said dully. He didn’t greet them; he gave them no name or anything. This was the first time he had spoken. “I’m offering you the sum of $50,000 dollars for this mission. Your job is to go into the edge of the Amazon jungle, where a drug dealer lives. He will be taking a one minute walk through the jungle from his house to a helicopter, unescorted. Your job is to kill him while he’s walking there.”
Sounded like a simple mission, kill someone who is unescorted walking through a jungle. They both nodded, and then shook hands. James questioned “How will the payment be made, and when?” “It’s up to you, I don’t really mind, I can pay through any method and whenever you prefer.” “Ok, could you pay us now with cash?” He nodded, and took them to another part of his hotel room and gave them the sum on $50,000, in 100 dollar bills.
He told them all they needed to know. The killing would take place in two days, on the southern edge of the Amazon. By the edge, he meant around two kilometres from where the jungle started. When the assassination had been completed, James and Robert would contact the anonymous stranger through a certain phone number.
They shook hands and left, going back to their home town – Texas – too prepare for their killing. They booked the next aeroplane available, and it was a comfortable one hour wait. They flew back to Texas. They have decided that James, being more experienced, would use a sniper rifle and shoot him in the head from a distance. Robert would be back up, only equipped with a hand gun, so he wouldn’t be too slow down.
The killing would take place in 43 hours, and they estimated the plane ride would take 4 hours. So, they booked a plane that would take off in 36 hours, so they would be 2 hours early too prepare, and also in case there was delay. This meant they had to leave 5 in the morning.
