The Care and Feeding of Teddy Dragon Bear and the Fire Sword Dancer

There once was a fire sword dancer who fell in love with the Teddy Dragon Bear.  She didn’t plan to fall in love with him, but it happened.  The more that they talked, the more time they spent together, the more she realized that they had so much in common.  They had been dreaming and thinking about each other for a long time.  One day she came to the realization that he is her soul mate.  She knew they were meant to be together and that her life would never be the same again.  Her routine life had been turned upside down and nothing was the same as it had been for as long as she could remember.  Not that things were bad, on the contrary, they were extremely good!  She had never known what it is to have a partner someone who “has your back”.  True enough she had males who had shared her bed, and made forever promises – just noises in the dark.  But this was different.  The fire sword dancer started off trusting and sharing many years ago, but she had become disheartened and sad.  Now she had a real reason to share, a reason to trust, something she hadn’t done since she was very young.  She couldn’t even trust her parents to protect and care for her.

So, here we are, she thought.  He has been alone so very long and hasn’t taken care of himself.  He had lain in the dark dank cave for a long time and hadn’t flown out in the sunshine very often.  He hadn’t been out for a swim in the river or the sea for a long time.   He hadn’t known real love in almost an eon.  She knew the symptoms all too well, herself.  If she hadn’t had battles to fight, she would be just as ill as he.  She had enslaved herself to a company on the port at hard labor.  The only avenue that was currently available so that she would be ready for battle when it came again.  He had been to see the wizard and had been prescribed various remedies, but until the Teddy Dragon Bear took care of himself, the elixirs and powders wouldn’t be very effective.  So, the fire sword dancer went along to see the wizard with the Teddy Dragon Bear.
