On Sunday the 28th of November Comcast customers freaked out from Main to Virgina when they weren’t able to get on the internet. It’s a funny story.

Sunday night Comcast customers from Maine down to Virgina were on edge when they were unable to access the internet due to an outage. Comcast said it was just a maintenance issue, getting it fixed as soon as they could. The internet was only out from 8:30 to 12 and now people are demanding a discount for the stress they were under.

That stress, as a reporter in Northampton Mass. put it, was the fear that they might miss out on all the online shopping opportunities. Manic Monday is so vital to life that to even think of missing it is criminal. So naturally Comcast should be giving these people a discount so that they can spend that extra money on the things they need.

Now, I’m not supporting or condemning anyone, I just want to point out the absurdity of some people. When did we transition into an insane need for spending and amassing stuff that people would develop such an anger over the absence of internet for about four hours. It all seems a little off to me. So naturally I giggled a little inside when I heard about what happened.
