The Coming Back Stone

            Tom Feleen is a ten year old kid who lives in a small town in Iowa. He always gets lonely when he is at his big house. It is him and his sister against the world because his parents are always never around to see his life.

            “Sally!” yelled Tom “I’m going down to the pond.”

            “Okay!” yelled Sally.

            The pond was Tom’s favorite place to go. He could always be his self, and not have to worry what anyone would think about him. When he went there he would skip rocks and talk. He always felt that the pond was listening to him and hearing what he had to say. He sat there all day throwing rock after rock.

            “Tom time to eat!” hollered Sally as Tom through the last rock.

            As he was walking away he heard something. It was a sound as if someone were just barely touching the water. Tom turned around and saw the rock coming back. He picked up the rock and examined it. In big letters it was printed Always With You! At that Tom dropped the rock and ran back to the house.

            “Tom eat your food it’s if you have seen a ghost,” said Tom’s mom.

            “I have mom, I really have!” screamed Tom.

            “No son of mine is going to lose his mind and say that!” shouted his father. Then with that they were done.

            The rock was sitting in Tom’s bed, and all night he sat there with the rock with his hands. He tried several things to get rid of the rock. He threw it out of his window, but it always came back.
