A short story of a young woman who is confronted with her abuser later in her adult life.

She pressed the knife deeper into his neck. The blood began to trickle down his skinny neck. She looked at the blood and then quickly looked away. In addition, this time in the reflection of the glass in front of her, she saw herself holding the knife to his neck. And just behind the chaos, she seen her children’s reflection as they reached out for her.

Slowly she came out of her rage and had one final thought to offer this man, this devil in the flesh.

“When it comes time to decide your fate. I will be there standing at the gates. I will personally make sure you make it to where you belong.”

Slowly she pulled away from his man. She knew she had beaten him. She now knew he would never forget, never ever again. She scrambled for her keys, knowing she had to leave. As she walked away from him that day, she began to finally forgive. And it was not long after that she forgot. She forgot about the confrontation of innocence,,,,,,,,,,,LOST.
