This is a story that I found on my computer, its pretty old, im leaving it as is when I found it.

10/12/2009Today i managed to ride 16 plus miles into the Almeden Quicksilver State Park. I always enjoy getting out into the mountains, or in this case the foot hills, it seems to make all of my stress go away.

Today was no different. The weather was perfect for biking, cool and cloudy, and i was eager to go riding again after a long three weeks of sitting around the house after school and on the week ends. I decided that i was going to go riding durring sixth peroid, and when i got home i started to pack my supplys,(water, food, patch kits, pocket knife, etc.) and after convincing my parents to let me go i was on my way to one of the best days of the year. When I got to the trail head I grabed a map and planned out my route. I decided to take the Mine Hill Trail as far as I could. The next two hours where hard work, and if you know a little somthing about bikes, let me put it into perspective; I was riding a completly ridgid BMX bike with a forty-five tooth chain wheel, and a loose crank. If your not into bike knowledge like I am, then let me put it this way, a forty-five tooth chainwheel is more geared toward top end speed, when your climbing a hill, that makes it hard to get going and keep going for long; and a ridgid bike is one with no suspension. When I got to the point that i just couldent climb anymore hills, I stopped, had lunch, and started to head down the mountain. The down hill part of the day is the part I always look foward to. Words cannot express how it feels to go down a rough and rocky mountain trail at twenty-five miles/hour. It is somthing that you have to experience to understand. For me there is no better feeling, turning,… left, right, left again. There is nothing more exciting and fun to me on the planet. If anyone reading this wants to know whare the Almeden Quicksilver park is, just come up to me at school and i’ll point the way.
