About a monstrous man-eating plant.
It all started when I got lost in the woods with my little brother, Pete. This morning, after breakfast, my brother made me go play hide-and-seek with him. “Hey, today is Saturday, let’s go play hide and seek!” Pete said excitedly. ” Go with him, Marty.” My mom said. “But I…” I started to complain but my mom cut me off. “Go with him,” My mom said sharply. I groaned. I had planed to try out my new bike in the park, but when my mom say something she mean it.
I took Pete to the forest next to our town. My parent said it’s dangerous, but I don’t see anything wrong. The forest is huge, about thirty acres of giant oak trees. It’s a perfect place to play hide-and-seek. ” Do you want to be It?” I asked Can. “No! You be it!”He shouted. I shrugged. Pete always hate being It, but I don’t mind.
I covered my eyes and started counting down. I can hear Pete’s feet pounding through the forest floor. “ten, nine, eight, seven…”When I got to zero, I turned around. Of course, Pete is out of sight. I looked behind trees, under bushes, and still can’t find him. Weird, I thought, he couldn’t have gone that far. I went farther into the forest. After ten minutes, I started to get worried. Where is he?! I thought. “Pete! Where are you! Come out!” I shouted.
Just then, I started to hear giggling. I followed the sound deep into the forest, and it led me to a small building. I peeked inside and saw Pete sitting on the lap of a young woman. He has a pot of plant in his hands. When I looked closer I saw that the plant has bright orange pods and a thin yellowish stem with dark green leaves. It was the weirdest plant I’ve ever saw in my life. Pete was poking at the orange pod. The woman raised her head and saw me. “Oh hi, what’s your name?” “Martin, but everyone calls me Marty.” “Oh hi Marty, welcome to my plant shop. I’m Aderina” I looked around and saw shelves full of weird looking plants. “Your brother seems to really like this one, so I’ve decided to give it to him.” I looked at the plant and I’m not sure that I’ll want that thing in our house. But Pete really seems to like it, so I guess I’ll have to live with it.
