Victor had able to wake up early in spite of the pain that irritated his body. He felt no good because of the bad weather. He could not absent, not at that day when he would give the salaries of his workers.

Suddenly, a diamond ring appeared in his mind. He smiled as he imagined how wonderful that ring would be in the beautiful finger of his beloved Melody.  After he received his money, we would go directly to shop.

“Go away!  I don’t need you here! “

Victor grimaced as he came across a shouting woman   pointing her forefingers to an old man.

“Please give us more a month,” came the response, ” my granddaughter is pretty sick and we don’t have any home to shelter.”

”For God sake! You haven’t been paid for three months!” the old woman angrily answered, “I need at least half of your total salary tomorrow.  Unless, you like to sleep with your beloved granddaughter in the wet street.”

When the wristwatch in his arm signaled to seven in the evening, Victor puffed in the air and stretched his arms. He lazily filed his paper in his table drawer and suddenly sighed. Business was not doing well. The furious typhoon created a big damage in his flower shop.

A diamond ring appeared again in his mind that made him remember his beloved Melody. At the end of the week was there second year anniversary. He liked to buy it as a gift and used it in proposing a wedding.

He packed his belongings and hastily went out from office. The jewelry shop would close at eight so he needed to hurry up.

While striding along the Third Avenue, stun blanket his body as a husky voice of a man came into his ears.

“Don’t move or I’ll slash your throat!” the unknown man shouted.

With the glimpse of a second, Victor found himself fell down in the ground and heard foot steps dashing away.

He slowly turned and searched for the strangers under the darkness of the stormy night. Frown wrinkled his face as the glow of the nearby street light revealed the identity of the mysterious man running with his envelop containing his money.

According to the forecast, the weather would turn to better in the following day so the business was expected to come back in shape. He can buy the ring some other time.

Maybe the mysterious man badly needed the money and he had no choice that time.
