Short story.
The book also told of a pond that once properly crossed one could reach the true Land of Fae and stay for eternity if they liked, for not only their soul would be there but so would their body. One of the directions was that one could never turn right to get to the pond and that one must go bare foot when making their way across the grass to the pond. For if you did not do so the fairies would attack because you did not follow the directions. Once you improperly crossed into their territory they could capture you and enslave you.
You had to go left to get there. Then one must go straight on until the pond is reached. Once there you could travel by boat for a bit, only till one reached the point of the water forest realm. One must then get out of the boat and ask the fairies to reveal the magic leaf in which one would clime into and be taken the rest of the way across the enchanted pond.
As I read on in the book I began to understand more and more what this place of Fae must have been about. In the book it described the story of how the book came to be here in my new home.
The book told of a young woman who fell asleep in that very same room in which I claimed as mine. As the woman awoke she found that in her doorway there seemed to be darkness, yet it was day. She walked towards the blackness curious to where it came from. Then a man was revealed to her. He wore much black, and had blue eyes that could pierce into ones soul. The young woman asked him who he was and where the rest of her house had gone. The man merely smiled at her, and then he told her of the land of Fae.
The woman was confused when the man told her the directions. He said she wouldmeet one of the Fae when she reached the silver lake. The woman followed this strangers advice and she traveled through the door to visit this strange land the man called Fae.
When she reached the silver lake a small winged creature met her. At first this small creature seemed to wish to harm her, but when announced who sent the woman the creature told her it was at her service. This small creature we now call a fairy gave the woman a small leaf. It told her that its name was Madalaqui, and that she had been sent to write of the woman’s story as a sort of prophecy to hand down to the one who would save all of Fae.
The woman told of how she reached the silver lake and that the man told her the rest was up to her to figure out. Thus the story was written and now it was found. The story had truth, and the creatures of Fae would be saved.
