“God, I beg you to please have mercy on us. Don’t take away yet our mother. We love her so much. Please give us the chance to serve her more. Please make her well”, whispered her daughter as tears continue to roll down her cheeks.

Niña thought and smiled to herself and began to fulfill her very first mission.

God was already frowning at Niña as she entered heaven with Mary’s soul with her.

God said, “Niña, what have you done? Why is Mary with you? Don’t you know that it is not yet her time?”

“I thought…it’s just that…I’m sorry…but I’m not really… sorry I mesh up…” stuttered Niña.

“What do you mean by that you are sorry but not really sorry?” asked God in a loud voice.

“I’m sorry I failed you because I forgot again. But I am not really sorry because by my mistake, I made everybody happy. Mary no longer wishes to live because her children have neglected her. On the other hand, Marie’s children will all be happy to be with their mother. Don’t they deserve a reward for being such good children?” answered Niña.

“You do not know what you are saying. But I forgive you. Very well, I will let Marie live a few years more for her children’s sake. But you have to take Mary back to earth for it is not yet her time. And don’t complain, just do it” said God in a serious tone.

Niña is only too happy to return Mary’s soul back to her body. She knew that God is too good to her for forgiving her despite disobeying His command. She has no right to interfere in His holy will. If only she is not too forgetful.

When Niña entered Mary’s house, she found her children already crying beside her immobile body. They are all crying and praying loudly saying “Oh, God, please forgive us. Why did our mother died? She has only flu. If she will live again, we promise we will take good care of her this time. Please, God, have mercy on us. We will not be able to forgive ourselves..”

It was then when Niña returned Mary’s soul. Mary suddenly moved and opened her eyes to see all her children crying. All her children once again cried but this time, they cried out of happiness because God has given them a chance to make up for their shortcomings to their poor old mother.

And so that was the story of how a forgetful angel made two widows and their children really happy.
