This is a short fable that I wrote for English. It’s really odd.
The Fox And The Guppy Fish
One day a guppy fish was silently swimming through the vast waters of the river flowing down the woods. He was looking for his school of fish as he glided up the river. He swam until his eyes laid on his friends. He quickly chased them down. Suddenly, a gush of water splashed the guppy fish on to the dry as a desert, land.
The guppy fish gasping for water screaming, “Help!”
A nearby fox patrolling the area for grub spots him and swiftly jumps him and picks him up. Gently he tosses him in the river.
“Thank you so much!” says the guppy fish.
As the fox scampers away focused on finding food mumbles, “No problem.” The fox, without sound, vanishes into the green bushes.
Months later, the fox is galloping like a horse (though not as loud as a horse), through the forest. He sees some wild chickens and gets ready to pounce. As he attempts to spring, he gets the chicken happily. With the meal in his mouth, the fox puts one paw in front of another to return to his den.
As he passes a suspiciously odd pile of leaves, a net falls from the sky and lands on him. He rolls down the hill and almost into a river. The guppy fish merely passing by to visit his school of fish, sees this and calls his guppy friends. They splash out of the water and slash the net with their teeth, because we all know how sharp guppy teeth are.
The fox, astonished by the guppy’s teeth utters a “thank you,” and thought to himself,
“When one does good to another, he receives good when misfortune is in the midst.”
