Her family disapproved of an early job she had in the big city.

She challenged her grandparents by working in this kin of shop. her grandfather called her mom and said that Bonnie would not be working in that gag shop which sold a little more than jokes. But Bonnie continued to work in that shop because it was cool, she met a lot of different people who challenged the system.Years later that shop went out of business and now it is a pastry place next to a Pizza parlor not far from the main metro in town. The shop was old then and it still is today and it wasn’t necessary to change the outside look.

So she worked the counter for jokes, the kind that made her laugh like the fake ink that disappeared when exposed. She would accidentally spray her customers and apologize then profusely. Then of course she broke up into laughter. The same kick would happen if she wanted someone to sit on an innocent looking pillow that farted when you sat down. There were so many little gags that got a  laugh one way or another, it is hard to remember all of them just as it is hard to remember all those characters that came in through the doors. And they came from far away distances.

Maybe the robbery go her to change her job or the fact that she liked to through in a few extra cigarettes when a client wanted only one. When the robbers took some change from the till she was too shocked to call anybody and ran upstairs through he back door. Luckily she was not pursued as she crouched behind some cartons on an upper floor.

Believe or not the gag shop also sold separate smokes much like they sold stuff that people would inhale and she refused to accept their money. Naturally he owner didn’t think that was good for business but she could not see herself taking a person’s paycheck away for a cheap thrill. And then there were articles that just hung from the ceiling she would pull down for some transvestite wanting a fake breast or some sex toy. That was all before sex sops opened in the town.
