Meet Herman Angeles, The Geek. He met.
Herman Angeles went to Baguio to study BS-Psychology after he graduated from high school. And, hoping that he would start a new life on that place. During high school, he was get picked by the bigger boys. And, he doesn’t want that to happen again. At University of Baguio, he stayed in a dormitory. His roommate is also a college freshman and his name is Gregorio Punzalan. They can get along with each other because they both have same interests. They both love math, science, and I.T. Gregorio took the course of Computer Science. Sometimes, he shared what he learned to his new friend Herman.
On the first day of school, Herman noticed a beautiful girl sitting inside the library. She is reading an American classic novel alone. She is wearing eye glasses and has white complexion. She is tall and has a long hair. Herman wanted to approach her to introduce himself. On the other hand, the girl’s best-friend approached the girl and they both hurriedly came out the room. So sad that Herman cannot approach the girl. It is really the wrong timing. But, he asked one of the library staff about the girl’s name. He found out that her name is Alicia Montemayor. She is in senior college, the leader of the sorority, and running for the suma cum laude. She told him that Alicia is a little bit snob, and she would ignored a geek like Herman.
Herman asked, “Does she has a boyfriend?”
He replied, “Are you interested on her? Get real! Yes, she has a boyfriend. Her boyfriend is the star player of the football team. His name is Dante Gonzalo. He leads the most influence fraternity here in campus.”
Herman said, “Is he smart? Well, I am smart. I am the valedictorian in our batch.”
He laughed, “Dante Gonzalo is a law student, my dear friend. He is the son of the congressman. Of course, he is smart. How can you compete with that guy?”
Herman is very frustrated to meet Alicia. He asked everybody her e-mail and cell number. Then, he started to send her sweet messages on text and e-mail. He introduced himself as Mr. Sweet Guy. When Danted found out that Alicia is receiving sweet messages from Herman, he was jealous. He started to confront Alicia about the messages.
Dante said, “Who is this Mr. Sweet Guy? Is he also a student in this school?”
Alicia laughed, “Are you jealous of him? He is just my admirer. Everybody knows that you are my boyfriend. You have nothing to worry about.”
Dante said, “I am going to find out who he is. And, I would kill him.”
Alicia is also curious about the identity of Mr. Sweet Guy. Then, Alicia made up her mind to ask him to give her his photo through e-mail so her boyfriend would not know. And, Herman was very excited that Alicia is very interested to see his picture. So, he send his photo to her e-mail. Alica looked at the picture and was disgusted by what she saw. She didn’t expect that Mr. Sweet Guy would be so ugly. Then, she decided to cancel her e-mail account and change her cell number. Herman puzzled why Alicia did not reply all his messages he sent to her. Then, he realized that Alicia did not like him. He is very depressed. He did not attend his classes. He went to bars and became an alcoholic.
One night, he went to a bar. A prostitute came to him. He was drunk. He felt dizzy. He and the prostitute went to a motel. They have sex. On the next day, Herman is the talk of the town. His scandalous pictures with a prostitute was scattered all over the campus. The dean of student affairs called him because of the classes he did not attend and about the scandalous issue. The board of directors decided to kick him out. He felt betrayed. He was furious. He wants vengeance. Unfortunately, his parents found out what happened. His father got heart attack and died. And, his mother was put inside the mental institution due to depression and loss of her husband. Herman feels more furious because of the tragic incident. He wants vengeance. But, he did not know what to do. His father left him a big sum of money. Then, he went to New York to have a plastic surgery. When he went back to Philippines.
It is year 2007. He is now a new person. He changed his identity as Maximilian Dela Fuentes, an heir of a rich and most influenced clan. He went back to University of Baguio to take Masteral Degree in Business Administration. Alicia is also taking her masteral degree and they are in the same class. Herman is still falling for Alicia. But, he doesn’t know where to start. And, he also have other plans.
Dante Gonzalo wanted to follow his father’s footstep. He will be running for this coming election as the town’s mayor. Dante also wanted to marry Alicia for her political influence. Alicia loves Dante so much so she agrees to marry Dante. Then, they are engaged to be married. It breaks Herman’s heart to see a happy ending between ALicia and Dante. His frustrations grow and grow until he found Alicia’s email address and cell number and started to text her sweet quotes. He introduced himself as Mr. Nice Guy to avoid suspicion.
Alicia is very curious about this mystery friend. She asked Herman to send his photo through email so Dante would not know. Herman send his nice picture. Alicia falls for Herman because he is very handsome at his photo. Alicia’s infatuation over Herman grows. Herman asked Alicia to go out at Saturday night to have dinner at the very fancy restaurant, and she agrees. Dante found out that Alicia betrayed her when he saw she and Herman have dinner together. Due to his anger, he went to them to start a fight with Herman. That is a very scandalous evening. The press took a picture of that fighting scene. On the next day, Dante is on the headline. He lost his chance to be run for candidacy this election because of his behavior. He apologized to Alicia so she and her family would help him for his candidacy.
But Alicia said, “Dante and I already forgave you. But, I am sorry. I don’t think I would pursue this relationship. I cannot marry you. I love Max.”
Dante Gonzalo is very curious of Maximilian dela Fuente’s identity. He hired a profesional secret detective to investigate Maximilian. According to the finding, there is no Maximilian dela Fuente living in States or in Philippines. All the records given by Maximilian is a hoax. Then, the detective found out that Maximilian dela Fuente’s real identity is Herman Angeles. Dante Gonzalo got furious.
He went to Alicia Montemayor to show her the documents about Max. Alicia said, “Now he is rich, he can give all what I want. I don’t love Max as he is. I loved him for his money.”
Dante Gonzalo was freaked out of what Alicia said about Max. And, he pitied on Max because Alicia only uses him for her own scheme. He also realize that Alicia also does not love him but for his money.
Danny said to himself, “What if I tell Max the truth? Will he believe me? I hope so. “
Danny took a lot of courage to confront Max, “Max, I want to tell you that I am sorry that I am the one who scattered the nude photos of yours with that prostitute during our college days.”
Max was so surprase. He paused for a moment and said, “That is a lot of courage Dante, but let’s forget it. Past is past.”
Dante continued, “Also, I wanted to tell you that Alicia doesn’t love. She wants to marry you for your money.” Max said, “I knew it all along, Dante. But, thanks anyway. Certainly, she will learn her lesson so soon.”
Dante said, “What is your plan, Max?”
Max said, “I will go back to New York to do a business there. Also, I already met someone. She loves me without considering of what I have. We had met at New York. I will break up with Alicia.” Then, Max did what he said. Max find peace in his heart because he has forgiven his archenemy Dante Gonzalo.
