She had opened up her system and had launched the text pad, her favorite form of stationery to start working on: no pretenses, no colors, no reproachful underlines to point out your errors and no irritating gem clips, dogs and cats, and with all due respect, no Einstein, to assist you in earning your bread and butter.
‘This is going to be the best piece of my work ever!’ she thought happily! She couldn’t believe the fact that she had hit on such a marvelous plot.
When she had informed them, the publishers were astounded to hear such a fabulous idea for the novel and they had wanted her to start working on it immediately!
The plot had popped up into her mind out of the blue, vivid and colorful, breathtakingly suspenseful with an unbelievable end, like the bright burning after noon sunshine, abruptly turning into a whirlpool of thunderstorm and torrents!
The depth, emotions and the shades of the novel had been circling in her mind all thro’ the day: her hands were itching to waltz around the computer keyboard!
She had opened up her system and had launched the text pad, her favorite form of stationery to start working on: no pretenses, no colors, no reproachful underlines to point out your errors and no irritating gem clips, dogs and cats, and with all due respect, no Einstein, to assist you in earning your bread and butter!!!! Just a simple and plain white sheet to cast your thoughts upon!
The editing sessions shall follow in any way! The reading and re-reading of the words, phrases, sentences and paragraphs: an addition here and a subtraction there, the search for the perfect word somewhere down the line… the process would go on and on, till she feels sapped up, wanting to lie down or to die out happily! She would then wrap up her work for that day, with the contentment of having taken a few more steps towards the culmination of her project!
She would return to the script the next day, the days following the next day, reading it time and again, polishing it lovingly by pushing in a sparkling word here and pulling out the dead drab of line from there, till the time she feels that the particular chapter is ready for the publishers.
It has always been easy for her to start with the first word, the words, the sentences and the paragraphs when she starts writing something; at times the flow from her mind shall become so furious that her hands would find it difficult to cope up with her mind!
Some days she would draw a blank, touching on the keys of her keyboard with fondness and would wait for the inspiration to come! When she could manage only a sentence and a phrase, nothing more satisfying, she would close down the shop and start concentrating on the other essential aspects of her life and living!
These days she could write with more fluency, having become well established in the world of writing! The words are easy to find, the pages are well in rhythm with one another, and the chapters are getting rounded off more comfortably!
She had realized that the financial support is primarily the most important aspect for a writer to maintain her sanity and her steady flow of writing. When you know that the writing is your passion, and somebody is ready to print your passion and pay for your passion, the mind just opens up and the words tumble out in torrents!
Presently, she had started on the new plot, was working on it all through the morning and was happy and content with the way her work was shaping up! She knew that her publishers would love it! This shall be the best piece of her work so far and the money would be very generous and then some more.
She had started writing late in her life, not because she had wanted to write, but because she had needed the money to bring her life back in rhythm out of the ruins!
All through her life she thought that love was everything and was never ever bothered about the money! She gave her entire life, time and energy to her family, undemanding in her love and affection for her husband and her children. And then one fine morning, as they show in the movies, her husband had told her that he found another woman more attractive and more youthful than her and had coolly walked out on her! Her children had grown up and flew away from her protective nest! She was left with a place to live in and the savings to live for about four months from then on!
She never knew of any trade nor was she trained in any particular job: however, she was good in narration: she had realized that she could say something to someone in such a way that it would go straight to their heart or arrest their attention right away: she had started writing…
For a newcomer to the world of writing, her work was genuinely inspirational, refreshingly well laid out in themes and scenes and was touchingly honest. She had found an acceptance from a publisher right away!
The initial stages of her work were mostly of melancholic in nature, which had reflected the phase of her life she was passing through at that point of time! Magically, it had reached and touched the heart of millions of readers, and they had identified themselves with her writing and became one with her narrations of tears and turbulences!
When she had finally found her inner peace in life and had earned the safety net of savings to maintain her life and living, her writing had taken on a bounce of their own! The colors, joy and jubilation had started popping out of her work, and slowly and steadily, her readers had welcomed her new Avatar and had accepted the now confident writer wholeheartedly! Her writing has become quite popular now!
Presently, she had realized that her steady flow of writing had stopped for the time being. There is no sense in sitting in front of the system and is waiting for the words to come! It just does not work that way! When you get stuck, you get stuck! Period.
She had made a cup of coffee and switched on the TV: while surfing idly from channel to channel, her eyes got caught on the good looking, suave and the famous male author, one of the best ever in the contemporary writing. He was sharing his life and times with the viewers. His laugh was tailor-made for the camera and his language was captivatingly mild and sober: He had a sparking magic in his eyes that had captivated his female viewers instantly! He had a huge fan following all over the country!
The program was almost over and she could watch only the final portion of his interview. The famous author was sharing with the viewers of the success of his last book and of the new breath-taking plot he was working on now.
‘This is going to be the best piece of my work ever!’ he had declared commandingly!
The interview had ended with a happy note of the interviewer wishing the author the best of success in his latest endeavor as well!
With a huge sigh, she had switched off the TV and had finished off her coffee: she shall have to continue writing now. She knew that the famous author of the interview would start putting pressure on her publishers, and in turn, the publishers shall call her and put pressure on her to complete the work as soon as possible!
She knew that she would never be able to see her name in the print; nobody will know that she could write and that she is blessed with such a fine way with the words and her work is one of the best in the world!
However, her work does get printed and she does get recognized as one of the best in the world! May be that’s what should count for her now!
‘One of the most famous authors in the world…’
She had smiled at the thought of it, had switched on the computer and had opened her favorite text pad to continue writing her best work as yet, yet again!
