It begins.

As Chris and Andie looked upon the falling flames the little girl looked into the sky, threw her arms out and started to twirl and dance around. Chris was too shocked to pay attention to the girl all he could do was stare at the flames. Andie looked at the girl as she danced and she started to sing.

“Each and every one of us,

is part of their little game,

going and going all about our day.

Each and every one of us,

is part of their little game,

unless of course of course of course,

the guardians come out to play.”

As she sang and danced she went into the middle of the road. She stopped abruptly, looked at Andie and smiled. Then she turned and smiled at the on coming traffic. Andie sprinted to her as he did this a car was about to hit them. As Andie grabbed the girl and threw her on his back he jumped and the world slowed. His feet cleared the hood, then the roof only by a breath each time and while he did this the little girl smiled even more. When Andie landed he ran back to Chris, but as he got close Chris took off in a full out sprint towards the school.

“The mass of the balls are going towards the school,” Chris spoke, “we need to get there now!”

Andie followed and spoke, “Do you think we should use our full speed and strength or its it too dangerous?

“These aren’t just balls of fire boys. The time has come you can stop waiting.” A wide triumphant smile spread across the little girls face as she spoke this to them.

Chris shot a look at Andie then back at the girl then he turned back towards the school. “Andie, keep her safe and don’t let anything happen to her we need this girl.”

“How do you expect to keep me here Chris when you yourself do not even know what you are going up against?” The girl asked.

Chris didn’t say anything he knew that nothing could stop her but right now all that mattered was getting to the school so he just ran.

As they got closer to the school Chris saw that every one was already in class. “All we have to do is make sure that they don’t destroy the school.” He spoke. Stopping in the parking lot Chris and Andie looked up. They were so close now that no matter what the boys did the flames were going to destroy either the school or the parking lot. Chris and Andie looked at each other, and they knew what needed to be done.

“Can you hold on tight?” Andie spoke to the little girl. He knew her answer when her grip tighten around his waist and shoulders. Then he and Chris jumped.
