By Bryan Wegman.

I don’t even want to open my eyes. I roll over to my back and feel the blood rush to the top of my head. Trapped in my brain sending out signals of aches and pains to the rest of my body. My legs stuck straight out with no strength to move themselves. I reach my hands out to loosen up the stiffness in my shoulders. A tingling glides along my hands. Surprised I jump up and open my eyes. The light pouring through my blurred vision sends more pain to my head. This cannot be good. Large brown figures appear in the blur, followed by the progression of detail in the green ground. The light of the sun shines through my eyes blinding me from complete assurance of where I am, but the damp feeling of grass, can let me assume this is not my bed. I flop my body back into the grass and lay on my back rubbing my eyes wondering how I could have possibly gotten here. I pull the hair back hoping it will relieve some of the tension in my head and gain the strength to open up my eyes and look around a bit. Not a single thing that looks even relatively familiar to me. I grab my hat laying in the wet grass next to me and put it over my eyes to shade out some of the sun. My face feels like a hot plate. My body damp and cold. With all the strength in my arms I lift myself to my feet and look around. Trees as far as my eyes can see in every direction. Not again.
