A tale of your basic high school, problems happening, and what these nerds are doing to save themselves from totally dorkness. They devise a list that has every single thing that makes kids popular.

Prologue

Hi, before I tell you my story of how my nerd friends, and I became four of the most popular guys in high school I want to tell you a bit about me. My name is Peter Small. I’m a junior and basically a nerd. I’m captain of the chess team, and pretty much the biggest nerd in the school. The only thing i’m good at is blocking. You would be too if you had to defend several kids who are too small to even defend themselves. Now, I don’t know where to begin my story, so lets begin the first day freshman year.

As I walked up the cobblestone walkway I already knew today was going to be trouble. I missed the bus, and ran 3 miles to school, and now my clothes are drenched with sweat. Another thing is football star, and jerk Mike “bomber” Halloway was walking in my direction. He had harassed my friends and me more than anyone in the entire school. I squeezed my eyes shut and waited for something to happen. Nothing. I opened one eye to see that Mike wasn’t coming in my direction. He was going for my best friend, Stewart Hoptorn.

I watched in horror as Mike picked a straw out of his jacket pocket, and tore a piece of paper out his notebook. He inserted the corner of paper. I could see him chew the paper. I knew I was going to get bagged on for this put I had to. I looked around frantically. There were two teachers talking. “Sir, Mike is chewing gum!” I babbled. The teacher looked over and said, “Which one is Mike?” the teacher asked sounding very uninterested.

I pointed to the sandy haired boy, and the teacher pulled him to the side. “Spit out your gum Mr. Mike.” Mumbled the teacher, and turned back to the other teacher. Mike’s face was beet red, and I could tell he was ready to give me the mother of all wedgies. He pointed and me, and then walked away. I knew he had it in for me.

Stewart walked over to me. Stewart isn’t a bad kid, but he is always zoned out. A person could steal his backpack off of him and he wouldn’t even notice. I explained what Mike was doing, and what I did. Stewart looked at me like I had 3 heads. “I appreciate what you did for me, but now Mike is going to make you his prime target.” Even though I didn’t want to believe it, I knew Stewart had a point.
