Its a short story with a small amount of humor. Its mostly suspense and somehow horror. You be the judge.

The Hourglass

On November 20th 1998 a young boy named Michal White was playing in his attic. He sees a large chest…it’s calling his attention. Almost like if it was yelling out his name. Michael! Michael! He opens it and looks trough the stuff. Trash, trash… ugh more trash, says Michael with a disappointed tone. He continues to look in the stuff on the chest until he finds an hourglass, it is crystal clear, it looks like it is made with very expensive glass. The sand inside of it looks as if it was glowing like if it was magical dust. He grabs it and looks at it for a few minutes.

He puts it down and stares at it. Hours go by and he is still staring at it. As if it was controlling his mind. He finally snaps out of it and runs down to his mother. Few hours later they eat dinner. All he can think about is the hourglass. He can’t get it out of his mind. He runs upstairs as fast as possible. He grabs it and decides to shake it. Everything starts to tremble. Lamps and old boxes fall to the floor. He panicked and ran under a table. He closes his eyes until the trembling stops. He opens his eyes and everything looks the same…same house, same floor, same stuff. He thinks everything is fine until he looks out the window. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Everything had changed. All he could see was wood houses and people dressed in weird clothes. Have you ever heard that if you travel to the past…anything you do can alter the future? Well…Michael had never heard that. He ran outside and saw a bunch of people crowding in front of a building. He sees a small tree growing on a park. He looks at it and yanks it out of the ground. He laughs and walks away. Turns out that was going to be the liberty tree…too bad he killed it. He holds the hourglass in his hands and he shakes it one more time. Everything trembles but this time…he traveled even more far back. He appears in the dinosaur age. A bunch of mosquitoes start biting him. He runs away, grabs a branch and kills them all. Right there he killed 6 species. Evolution got messed up. Animals changed, humans changed…everything changed. He got scared and shook the hourglass.
