THE OLD HOUSE STOOD ON TOP OF THE HILL. A place they had left behind…..

The Davis family had built the house in the early 1800’s. They had children born in the house. They had weddings there and death. The family had been strong. But threw time, death and children moving away from home, the house was abandon. The last time a family member lived there was in 1974. The house just stood alone and empty. The dust gathered and repairs were greatly needed. The house was never for sale. Someone just forgot the old house. There was quite a few members left that own the home. But they lived there lives at different location around the country. No body wanted to have to do the repairs, so alone it sat. No parties, no births, no weddings just alone in time. The roof was in need of repair and a paint job. Windows needed replacing and the place had been broken into several times threw out the years. You could see the heart break in this house forgotten with time. It was crying out for a family to return. The house needed light, needed love and attention. One month ago, she had new windows and a paint job. Was she coming back from to life we wondered. A house as grand as that should have life. We watched and saw a moving truck pull up. Charlie Davis, one of the Davis , great grand children had decided to take the project on. He was a doctor that had just relocated back to that town. Married and with two children of their own, they slowly and carefully brought the house back to life. The memories of past mingled with the memories of now. it was good seeing the house, proud and standing tall as she should have. It was like seeing an old friend forgotten in time. welcome back, now stay forever more, happy and content.
