A hunting trip with a twist.
it’s a beautiful early fall morn.just before the sun rises my family and i decide to travel to a favorite watering hole.my best girl is by my side and I’m surrounded by friends and family.what more could a being ask for?on the way,my girl sneaks peeks at me and i pretend i don’t notice. i puff out my chest and move with a purposeful grace that i know drives her wild.tonight i have a feeling she’ll be in the mood.
as we near our destination we scan the small thicket by the east side of the lake.the sun is just rising and the orange glow sets a beautiful pattern on the gently shimmering water.it’s good to be alive.as i indulge a quick sideways glance to see how my girl is enjoying the moment and our world is torn apart by thunder.
in seconds shrapnel has torn the bodies and ripped the flesh of my precious loved ones.as i look in confusion and terror one after another of my friends and family falls lifeless before my eyes.their bodies lay twisted and mangled in the mud and are further mutilated by black hell-beasts who shoot out on command.
out of the sun.
out of the east.
out of that thicket by the lake.
there are foreign voices i don’t understand and these hell-beasts seem to take their commands from them.i look about me amidst the thunder and the shrapnel and see the torn bodies of my loved ones.i cry out for help.my god all i hold dear and precious is being torn apart and slaughtered and i can’t stop it! why won’t somebody help us?but there is no help, only the endless thunder, smoke, and death.frantically i seek out my girl.maybe she avoided the carnage, maybe she at least made it.as i feel the hot shrapnel pierce the right side of my body i see her lifeless eyes stare up at me from the jaws of one of those hell-beasts.i hear the crunch of her spine as the beast flexes it’s jaws.i look the creature in the eye and i see it’s blood lust and eagerness to add me to it’s pile of corpses.each and every one a dear friend or family member.as the thunder and ripping death still fly about me i gaze into those eyes and promise my girl that they will be made as lifeless as they have made hers.with that vow i dive at the beast and attempt to claw it’s eyes out.
