A funny story about a boy who has a glimpse into the immediate future the night before his first job interview.
THE JOB INTERVIEW
“Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggg!!!!!” the alarm clock went on buzzing.
Kelvin slammed his hand on the clock. He looked at the time it read and rubbed his eyes thinking he was mistaken.
He looked at the time once again. It read 9: 23am and he shook his head in disbelief as he rushed out of bed and grabbed his clothes that were hanging on the door knob.
“Oh God! How could I have made such a mistake” Kelvin said to himself as he hurriedly washed his face whiles putting on his dress.
“I can’t believe it” he went on saying to himself.
Kelvin dashed outside and rushed off to the bus stop.
“Oh no, with this queue when am I going to get a bus” he stammered to himself.
He was confused. In that moment he decided to run all the way to the next stop and hope he could catch a bus there.
The journey to the next stop was about a half a mile away. He set off to the next bus stop running like a horse.
“ Oh No! I can’t believe this, what am I going to do?” he kept on saying to himself whiles his heart pounded crazily.
“Thief, thief, STOP HIM!….. Stop the THIEF!”these deafening cries caused him to wonder what was happening him.
Kelvin turned his head only to see ten’s of people with their numbers increasing by the second chasing after him.
Kelvin lived in Nima, a place notorious for meting out instant justice to suspected thieves.
“I can’t stop, no way, these guys will kill me” Kelvin thought to himself as he increased his pace and decided to lose his pursuers by changing his course of direction.
Almost in a single movement, Kelvin took a left turn into an alley and jumped the 8 foot wall that was to his side.
SPLASH! He landed in a pool of muddy water. He got up and quickly took to his feet once more.
“Oh God help me out of this sticky situation, I don’t want to die at the hands of these barbarians who think I am a thief” he thought to himself as he continued running, changing directions and jumping walls.
“If I ever get out of this, I promise I will go to church more often and also pay all my tithe”
