HER GHOST APPEAR IN THE MIST, WALKING SLOWLY AS IF NOT TO TRIP. SHE WAS THE DAUGHTER OF THUNDER CLOUD.

Everybody has heard ghost stories. Some are true and some just to scare you. This however is a story handed down Thu time. My family told me this when i was 12 years of age. It happened behind my home, in the area of where Midwest. they rounded up all the Cherokee Indian tribes and tribes from all around. They sent them to Oklahoma. Some walked there and many died. Thunder Cloud and Meadow Lark were some that were forced from their home lands to this area. Thunder Cloud was a warrior. He had 2 daughters and a son left. they had six children but the soldiers killed them when they attack their camp. All of his tribe were taken and put on the train to be transported to this area. Yellow flower was the youngest, she was only 12. Very beautiful and always  laughing. As the years went by ,many had died.her sister had past doing the cold snows. The story goes on to say that yellow flower, daughter of Thunder Cloud was so beautiful that they made her cover her face to not bee seen by the solders. There had been some planting and some crops look like they were going to make it. The goats all had babies and everything was calm. One late afternoon after the rain had came, she went for a walk in the woods. singing and skipping and feeling one with nature. She  stopped by the river to cool her feet. She laughed at the rabbits as they chased each other. It was getting dark so she headed back to her tee pee. She didn’t want Thunder Cloud to worry. She hurried back and went to bed. They were all awaken by guns going off. Thunder Cloud told them to stay inside.

They all peeked out the door and saw Thunder Cloud brought down by the gun fire. Everybody in their tribe was running trying to get away. The family ran for their lives. Her mother told the girls run to the woods. Hide. She would come for them when it was safe. They ran toward the woods. They were ahead and thought they would not be found. A gun shot sounded behind her. she saw her sister falling to the ground. She reached the woods and tried to find a safe place to hide. She heard the men come into the woods. Searching and yelling to each other. She didn’t dare move. She closed her eyes tight and pray they would move on.  By the moons light she saw them searching and they were moving closer and closer. She had to make a decision to run like the wind before they came any closer. She took off as quite as she could but they saw her. They surrounded her. They toyed with her, pushing her over and over again. Her clothes were being ripped off and she fought hard. When the drunken solider were done taking her they began to beat her. One solder wave a knife at her. She saw no escape and lunged on the knife. Her ghost appears in the woods at night. Looking for her tribe they say.She looks so sad. If anyone sees her she just hides behind a tree or bush. When they leave she walks the woods the rest of the night. she has been sited by thousands still walking those woods in Midwestern Oklahoma.
