A boy discovers a strange stone and is thrown into a world he had no idea existed.

A long time ago on an island called Eroherd there lived dragons. They lived on an island that had everything that made dragons happy, lush forests, gentle rivers and large mountains. They were peaceful creatures with intelligence and intricate personalities. The dragons all lived in peace at Eroherd for many thousands of years until a new animal on a ship landed on the banks of their island, a human.

On that ship was a horde of greedy, bloodthirsty men. They loved to terrorize villages and discover new land to sell to the highest bidder.

After anchoring they ran out onto the shores of the island and ran into the thick bush, hacking their wicked swords at anything and everything that got in their way. Once all the men disappeared into the forest, out of the ship came a young boy called Darzec.

He had stowed away on the ship at the last village the men had robbed. He was hungry and needed food desperately. His only food on the ship was dried meat and there had been none for the last two days.

Darzec ran out into the forest stumbling on his weak legs. Deeper and deeper yet he ran until he found a clearing. To his surprise, in the middle of the clearing was a diamond as big as his head!

Darzec snuck up to the diamond, half expecting it to be a trap. Then he got closer up and realized it wasn’t a trap. He bent down and touched the stone. He withdrew as a fiery pain surged up his arm and burned in his heart. He struggled against it but it was no use. Suddenly, the pain subsided.

Darzec was shocked at what had just happened. He inspected his body looking for any signs of damage. All he found was a small mysterious symbol that had appeared on his chest right on top of his heart. Confused, he tried to rub it off and realized it was embedded deep in his skin.
