A boy discovers a strange stone and is thrown into a world he had no idea existed.

Consumed by his problem, Darzec did not notice the diamond shaking violently in front of him. He looked up and stared at the diamond, half-scared, half-curious. He got up and started backing away when the diamond started to crack. Darzec was petrified. First it was shaking violently and now it is cracking? What was going to happen next?

Darzec turned to run when a large blast of light consumed him, confusing and temporarily blinding him. He sat up and rubbed his eyes. He thought this must be this must be a trick! Sitting in front of him was a green dragon with big, curious eyes.

He reached out to touch it and in a split second, 10 years passed before his eyes. He suddenly felt light-headed and passed out on the ground, unconscious.

Darzec awoke remembering what had happened. He looked down at himself and saw that he was no longer a child, he was a man now. He had broad shoulders and muscular arms with a tight stomach and sturdy legs.

Darzec stood slowly. He remembered he spent 10 years of his life on this island training himself and his dragon to be fierce warriors. He also learned many things during his stay on the island.  He acquired knowledge from the dragons that no human had ever possessed. He learned to communicate telepathically with his and other dragons. He learned how to ride his dragon with skill and speed. He learned powerful spells and became strong in all forms of combat. He soon became a very respected and trusted on Eroherd and the dragons made him and his dragon honorary armour from the finest of steel and gold. He was no longer a child, no longer a man either. He was a Dragon Rider.
