A view on life, perhaps.

She knew it flowed across her face, she knew it was everywhere around her being.

“Do you see the light?” She heard the melodic soft voice come to her.

“No,” she gasped out the answer, she couldn’t see the light. There was no way to focus everything seemed swept away leaving her bare.

“Do you see the light?” The voice came again to her, this time with less warmth.

She struggled as she felt her eyes glass over with tears. She tried desperately to see it, she knew it was everywhere around her, so why could she not see it. “No…”, she answered quieter, feeling hope slipping slowly from her.

“Do you see the light?” The voice sounded again much more tersely. The warmth and nurturing sliding away from the voice as it lost patience with her.

She tried desperately to see it, screaming inwardly at herself to focus and to see it. But she only caught glimpses, she couldn’t hold onto it. “No…I know it is there, but I cannot see it.” She muttered the words out as she felt tears of defeat slide down her cheeks.

“Then you will never truly live.” The voice came to her again with words that hit like nails into a coffin. A coffin of living death, despair was her shroud and no matter how she tried she could not find the light…
