I live in the South East corner, and it’s the riviera of the UK.

                                            The Long Hot Summer

I live in the South East corner of England in a seaside town named Herne Bay. I am very glad that I do, as the weather here is truly amazing, and totally unlike any other part of the country.

Since April of this year it has been sunny almost every day, and there have been lots of opportunities to enjoy barbecues in the open air. I had  assumed it was a good year for all of the UK until I watched the news and saw so many people rained out of their camping sites and caravan holidays.

Friends came to visit us recently from Wales, and said how nice it was to see the sun, as they have experienced days and days of continuous rain.

This weekend past, we have been visited by family from Worcestershire, they reiterated that it had been an awful summer. They found it hard to believe that it is over 6 weeks since we had any proper rain.

But of course there is a downside to all this. Our grass has brown patches on it, it needs some rain to revive it, and dare I say that as much as I have enjoyed this summer, I am also looking forward to autumn and winter, as having seasons is really the nice part of living in England.

The weather is our main topic of conversation, as we never know what it’s going to do next, and it has even been known to  experience rain, wind, sun, and snow, all on one day. All I can say to the poor people who had their holidays spoilt by rain this year is, if they come to the Kent coast, they will most likely be lucky enough to enjoy a sun filled holiday, and also it’s a great place to come to anyway.

sounds like great weather to enjoy. as for the brown spots on your grass maybe just use a hose or sprinkler?

How nice if there are 4 seasons in my country. To me, it is hot everyday…
