June 21st considered to be the longest day of the year.

It’s time to summer solstice. A solstice is an astronomical event that happens twice each year when the Sun’s apparent position in the sky reaches its northernmost or southernmost extremes. In northern Hemisphere, the winter solstice is late December and the summer solstice is in late June. In the Southern Hemisphere, In the Southern Hemisphere, the solstice is reversed. The Winter solstice day is supposed to be on December 21 or 22.

The day on which the summer solstice is that day of the year with the longest period of day light. The significance of this day is , it is reversal of shortening nights and lengthening days. Across, world, it is an event. It is a time of rejoicing because the sun is associated with life and agriculture.

In many places it is a time of first harvest. In Sweden they celebrate this as ‘Midsommar. The famous place to celebrate this day especially in UK at Stonehenge.
