A touching story of a Llama named Llary, who was tragically separated from his family and friends.

There once lived a baby llama named Llary. Llary was a very
playful llama. He enjoyed playing games with the other llamas
of the farm. Everyday, Llary and the other llamas would go out
into the field and play a fun game of soccer.

One day, Llary and his friends went to the field do play their
game of soccer, but today the field was fenced off with a barbed
wire fence. All of the llamas were upset. Llary didn’t want to
go back home, so he tried to get over the fence. He climbed over
and was on the other side. Llary called for his friends to come
too. Llary did a lap around the field to warm up for the game.

When Llary was half way around the field, he heard a loud bang.
He looked to where the sound had come from, and there he saw an
old farmer aiming a shotgun at him. Llary ran away from the farmer
but he began to chase him. The farmer got in his car and began
firing out the window. Llary was panicking, he ran and took a
jump over a fence and ran off down the bare road.

After several hours of running, Llary slowed down and rested. He
had gotten away from the farmer, but by now was miles away from
his family and friends. Llary didn’t know what to do. In the
distance, Llary could see a car coming up the road. The car pulled
over next to him. And before Llary got up to run away, he was put
in a sack and thrown in the car.

The car finally came to a stop, and the door was opened. Llary was
released from the sack, and looked around. He was in a strange place
he had never seen before. There were tall buildings, cars driving
past, people walking and signs on the corner of each street. Llary had
been taken to the city. He was at a building, the sign said Vet. Llary
had never been to a place like this before. There were cats and dogs
and animals of all kinds. Llary and the man who took him sat in a
seat and waited to be called into the room.

A few minutes later, a doctor came out, she called for the man to come
in. Llary and the man walked into the vets room. The vet began to
check Llary for diseases. The vet then took a sample of Llary’s blood
and came back a few moments later. The man and the vet spoke to eachother
and then she took Llary into another room.

Llary was tied to a table. The vet walked over to Llary and started to cry.
Her tears streamed down her face and trickled onto Llary’s soft fur. She
held a needle full of red liquid in the air, and slowly moved it down
towards Llary. Llary didn’t know what to do, he began to cry aswell. He
missed his Mum and Dad, and all his friends. Llary’s tears wet the fur
around his face. The vet stood still, needle still above Llary. She
couldn’t do it. She couldn’t look the llama in the eyes and put him
to sleep. She untied him and opened the door. Llary ran outside and
down the street.

Everywhere he walked, people stared at him. Cars stopped suddenly and
tooted their horns at him. He was scared. Llary didn’t want to be here
anymore, he wanted to be at home with his family. He wanted his mother
to tuck him in at night. He missed playing games with his friends. He
decided to do something about it. He set off down the road and kept
going.

Days had passed and he was no longer in the city. He didn’t know where
he was. Llary was tired and sore. He lied down on a valley of grass.
He closed his eyes slowly, and finally fell asleep. He woke up suddenly
with a pain in his side. Llary screamed loudly, it hurt so much. But he
had to push on, he had to go home to his family one last time. He set
off back down the road. Occasionally a car drove past and gave him a
weird look.

Two years had past since Llary had last seen his family and friends. Now,
he was no longer a baby llama, but he was a teenage llama, and now the
pains in his side had gotten worse. It began to rain. Llary thought about
his family once again, like he had done every night since he left. He
wondered if they had missed him as much as he missed them. Llary lied
down on the road and began to close his eyes, one last time. Llary slowly
felt the pain in his side disappear. Llary was no longer a lost llama, he
was no longer anything at all. He was dead.
