This missionary is sent to a dimension that is at war.
“Trune, if you weren’t a civilian, I would make you at least a colonel and give you and your partner medals. Damn the regs. I’ll give you two medals anyways. You may have just won us the war with what you’ve done,” he bragged.
“I don’t know if I would go that far in crediting our ultimate victory. But thanks just the same.”
“I mean it. If these bastards had turned over your replicators to the enemy, there is no telling how many of your weapons they could have turned out. Thanks to your partner’s genius, you two were able to get the drop on these bastards with different weapons. I know I wouldn’t have been so quick to think of that.”
“Where we come from, the weapons we’re supplying you with are nearly antiques. Similar weapons have been used for centuries.”
“Antiques of not, they’re pretty damn effective, if you ask me. Good work, you two.”
The guards came into the room and led the traitors to the brig to await a trial and likely execution in front of a firing squad. Trune and Frone went back to the chapel and continued the services which were shortened a bit so that the men on the base could celebrate the victory.
The war was shortened, thanks to the advanced weapons Trune and Frone supplied. They were even given the military rank of colonel, though they were officially civilians. That way they could both receive the Medal of Military Excellence which is similar to our Medal of Honor. The technicalities were overlooked to allow the honors to be bestowed.
After two more years of fighting, the war ended and Trune and Frone were given a hero’s welcome back in their adopted home of New Hominus. They started a church there which now runs around 15,000 on Sunday mornings. Since Trune was rejuvenated, he has been an active member in the War Veterans Administration and has traveled all over the country talking about the war and talking about Jesus. He may be proud showing up at the Presidential mansion every now and then as an honored guest. But he would much rather lead people to Christ because even though he helped his adopted nation achieve victory over its enemy, helping people achieve victory over their spiritual enemy Satan is much more important.
