This missionary travels among the stars as a starship chaplain.
Stranfen Proyn fought in the Second Kuyper Belt War and had earned honors and medals in various battles. But that was before he found Jesus and wanted to spend the rest of his life serving him. He enrolled in the seminary after getting back and graduated in 1953.
Since Stranfen was going to board a vessel with almost everything he would need, he didn’t take much to the other dimension. Also, since he was a decorated hero from KBW2 he had his choice of starships to serve aboard. He chose the newest one in ACE’s fleet; the Jorphan Krang. It was named in honor of starship commander Captain Jorphan Krang who shifted into another dimension so he could travel deep into enemy territory and strike at the heart of an empire. His boldness inspired others to fight harder and the war was ended sooner than many expected.
When Stranfen transported aboard the Jorphan Krang he was recognized by various people and applauded. He met with the captain of the vessel in his cabin which was off of the bridge. The captain was excited to meet him and used the replicator to prepare some of his favorite foods and beverage; steak, baked beans, pecan pie, and ginger ale.
The captain stood, shook Stranfen’s hand, and said, “Welcome aboard the Jorphan Krang. I believe you know him.”
“Yes. I ought to go see him, wherever he is. I’m sure he is boring some kids with his war stories,” he said as he sat in front of the captain’s desk.
“I can’t believe you came back to be our chaplain. I thought for sure you were going to take command of some starship and serve ACE for another few tours of duty.”
“When I accepted Christ as my Savior I decided to serve him first and ACE second. I imagine I’ll hear some people call me Captain. But that’s fine with me. The man I used to be was a good man. But the man I am today is a better man. I want to help the crew of this vessel spiritually. When I was commanding the Roma Delure I had no chaplain. The crew was expected to be tough and didn’t need someone to get into their heads to get them in touch with their feelings. If they wanted that they would have stayed home.
