This is a short piece on my hatred of the overuse of the most common acronym known in the English language. As Attilla was the Scourge of God, this is the Scourge of.. eh.. well read on and you’ll see what I mean.

Never knew ‘LOL’ had such power. Great writing.

very well written- you made me laugh and I share your lol phobia!!

I love how you focused on such a little thing and made it something big. You practically made “lol” into the third world war. You have to be a truly gifted and skilled writer to obtain such abilities.
And I also like how you ended. I love how you use all these big words to say the things you mean and then in the end you use such a gruesome four letter word that many people on this sight would cringe at. It’s almost like there was really no other way, no big word, or adjective to describe the consequenses of the word “lol” being introduced into modern conversation.
    Loved it,
    Keep writing,

A witty insight into a horrible acronym. It’s so blatently phony.
Though, I have to confess, such was my inaptitude to so-called txt speak, at first I thought it meant ‘lots of love’. I couldn’t work out why guys would be saying that to me on emails. Quite relieved when I discovered its real meaning.
    Hehehehe LOL
    No I’m f**king not!!!

I f**kin loved this! I have a few friends who I communicate with through MSN, who have a habit of doing that. I go into a very descriptive overview of how my day was; and they reply with Lol!
It always leaves me struggling to reply with something that cannot possibly be answered with, Lol. On that note you have given me an idea! Lol

Yeah, I agree. Great satire, as I’m sure you mean every word of this slice.
