What exactly does that mean? Well in this case it means how one small little action over times affects a larger group or cause.

After attending many events that have been a great learning experience whether in school, scouting, or other educational conferences, one man has had an affect on one to one basics with approximately ten youth a year. Using one small action, and a one-dollar coin. Working through the youth, his hopes and dreams is to connect with thousands of youth from all over the world in the years to come.

When he attended his first event; he started with 10, one-dollar coins, which he would slowly distribute through out the weeks to come. Usually during spring and summer months when there were more families visiting and sight seeing in his city. When he saw a young individual enthusiastic about a museum, the zoo, enjoying the sites he would approach the youth with an extended hand, giving him a handshake. After introducing himself, and speaking with the youth, he would pull out this coin, hand it to the youth telling him that this coin is to be held onto and reflected upon, it is not to be spent. The purpose of the coin was to be a reminder of his adventure, his learning experience and the fun he had. When the time came and he returned to/or went to another state, or country to site see; he would then pass the coin onto a new excited and curious youth, in the same fashion it was received. Keeping the power of learning and communicating open and alive.

Over time the hope was for this one man, that his actions would come full circle and continue on. It happened one year; as a young man approached extending his hand he introduced himself and asked, “ Do you remember me”? Looking at the young man, he smiled as the young man took out his one-dollar coin and let him know that he had returned after six years and now he would be passing the coin along. The satisfaction seeing his work of “Power of One” had come full circle can never be put into words; the feeling very awesome.

Keeping the enthusiasm of learning and seeking knowledge while communicating with others is an incredible way for us all to reconnect as a society. One man’s Action;
