When are you going to stop feeling like a girl?

I lived in a big city for a long time. This was when I was in my twenties. At that time, all my friends were single like me. We all were petite. Each one of us had long hair and we thought we were pretty.

At that time we did not consider ourselves “the girls next door”. We knew we were attractive girls, but  based on our standards, we did not give ourselves a ten. We were just proud of our looks, living our lives and having fun. We were professionals and we all worked five or six days a week. We  believed we had the right to go out and have fun on the weekends, so that was what we used to do.

Time has gone by. Now we are almost forty. Many of us are married and raising our kids. Couple of my friends are getting a divorce or getting married for the second time. We are not that young and we do not go out every weekend. But one thing it is for sure. We still feel like we are the girls we use to be and we still like to have fun. We just do it in a different way.
