A day in the life of a rabbit.

One day, a rabbit named Kyle snuck into a farm to try and steal some carrots. He tip-toed his way to where the vegetables were grown. There, he found thousands of carrots. “This is my lucky day,” thought the rabbit. He gulped down as many carrots as he could fit into his mouth.

The rabbit was happily munching on a carrot when he heard quiet footsteps behind him. He turned around but there was no one there. The rabbit uneasily continued chewing his carrot. He heard other noises behind him. Sweat started to go down the rabbits face. He looked around him but found nobody. He gathered up as many carrots as he could and started running back to his home.

Behind him, he heard a four-legged animal chasing him. He regretfully dropped all his carrots so he could pick up his pace. He didn’t dare to look back at the beast following him.

When the rabbit finally arrived back home, he decided to get some rest. He had learned his lesson and decided that he would never steal anything again. But everywhere he goes, the rabbit wonders, “what had been following me that day? What did I even escape from?”

Great metaphor- the fourlegged beast was his conscience.

Divinity, I agree with you. at first I pictured a fox or something chasing the rabbit, When I read your comment however, it gave deeper meaning to this story.

Good job on picking up on that, and great job tmpryid for this story.

“Great metaphor- the fourlegged beast was his conscience.”

lol, you remind me of my APEL teacher. she finds more deep meaning in a story than the actual author.
