This is a short story of a middle-aged woman who is supposed to meet a guy at the restaurant with what was agreed. She does not have what was asked of her and she is unsure what will happen.

She scanned the faces closely, looking for someone, avoiding the stares.

Salit could hear her heart beating fast. Her lips were dry as she found it hard to swallow saliva.

Where is he? She wondered.

She clenched her tiny pulse as she searched again at the faces in the dining room of the Five Star Hotel.

“Excuse me Madam,” a waiter interrupted. “There is an empty seat at the corner of the room if you have not found one.”

“Thank you,” she replied.

The waiter hesitated.

“Are you alright?” He asked.

“Yes,” she replied, faking a smile.

The waiter left.

Out of the corner of her right eye, she saw him seated looking at her. He was not smiling.

She dreaded what was going to happen or the conclusion the man would come up with, as  she had not found what he had asked for.

Pushing the thoughts out of her mind, she proceeded to where he was sitting.
