We often have seen most of the people who drink, smoke or take any type of such a drug which give them tranquility and they feel such things make them anxiety free, basically that is not so . Their eyes get redended and their is a rise in their blood pressure. This causes headache, increase pressure of nerves. We take it lightly. Some time when we move in a storm or wind , dust particles strike in our eyes causing irritation . We rub our eyes to remove them but those unwanted particles scratch the eye ball.

According to the medical point of view the main reason of the red eye is something different. The main differential diagnosis of an acute red eye include conjunctivitis , acute closed angle glacoma, corneal trauma , infection etc. The red eye is caused by congestion or hamorrhage of the conjunctival vasculature. Subconjunctival hemorrhage occures suddenly and produces a bright red area with no other signs or symptoms. These hemorrhages can be the result of trauma, hypertension , blood dyscrasias , straining , or violent fits of sneezing or coughing , but often no cause is apparent . This type of hemorrhage requires no treatment and gradually absorbs over a few weeks with the characteristic color changes of hemoglobin degradation products.

On the other hand it is a cardinal sign of intraocular inflammation or conjunctival irritation. This infection is a sign of conjunctivitis. It appears a superficial, bright red or pink tortuous vessels that move with the conjuntiva.There are so many other diseases related to the eye which cause redness.
