Chapter One: Darkness Falls.

Darkness fell over Gielinor as the sun slowly sank out of sight behind the spires of Castle Drakan to the west. A cool wind played across the Doctors face as he stood outside, breathing in the warm air from the past day. Looking up towards the clear, darkening blue sky, he saw dark swirling shadows tearing across the sky. Out of the depths of the swamps to the west, and up to the north-west.

He narrowed his eyes as he watched the progress of the shapeless object streak away, until it was gone. “Sliske…”the doctor breathed as the last of the mass vanished into the increasingly dark eastern sky. He was heading north…so soon?

Although, recently there had been two different energy’s travelling from the desert northwards as well. That could only have been Akthanakos and Enakhra, who were constantly fighting out there. He had not felt anything else from his kin, other than two great surges of power south, around Lumbridge and north up by those old ruins. The rest others he had not felt in years…he had deduced by now that they must all be further east than he could sense.

He, himself, had not attended the Ritual in several thousand years due to his brief encounter with some Zamorakians. Then again, did he need to go? He had survived much longer than one should have done without the bi-millennium Ritual… he certainly did not want to go. He didn’t think he could ever like many of them every again since they betrayed his Lord.

He sighed. He would have to go, as much as he hated the whole affair, and deciding to set of the next day he inhaled more lung-fulls of air.

Inside his mind he felt weak tugs and he barely heard a faint voice hiss as if from a very long way away “Azzandraaa…..”

Turning on his heel, The Doctor descended into the excavation below and proceeded to the pulsating yellow dome in the centre of a grand gold and blue room.
