This is a story of a rock monster who got himself in the night sky.

There once lived a rock monster. Everyone feared him because he was so big and different, so he was banished to live in a cave. At first he did not know how he could live, all the water dripping from the ceiling, no light, not even a way to make a hole for light, and no friends to do anything with. But then he started to get used to it a little. But he was always bored; there was never anything to do all by himself. So one day he had had enough of being alone and decided to search for a friend. He knew he had to stay away from any of the main cities because if he went too close someone would see him and probably report him. So he went in search of a camp where someone would be living. His search for a camp didn’t last long but his search for people living at them did. In total he found 13 camps, but no people. He was starting to think that every camp in the world was empty and that people were just living in the cities now. He made his way back to his cave in hopes of finding someone walking along one of the roads but still, no luck. He decided that the only way to make a friend was to go into one of the cities and prove that he was no different inside than anyone else. He first got a good night’s sleep because he didn’t know what was going to happen the next day.

He woke up early the next day, but not on purpose, just because he could hardly sleep the night before knowing what he was about to do. He went to the closest city, the big Imperial City; it was also the capital of the area. He knew it would be dangerous so he decided to stay hidden and watch the city gate. There were two guards watching the gate so no one could get in unless they were supposed to. He walked around the outside of the city and saw a break in the wall that guarded the city. He noticed that no one was guarding it either. When he went inside he realized he was in someone’s house. He stayed there for a little bit, until he was found. When the owner came into his basement and saw the rock monster just looking around she almost couldn’t believe her eyes. Then when he noticed her he also noticed that she wasn’t running or screaming. It occurred to the rock monster that he had never talked and that people probably thought he couldn’t talk. So the first thing he said was “Hello.” And the woman just stood there for a minute then she said “So you can talk.” Then they started having a conversation and in the end the woman agreed to let him stay with her instead of in the cave.
