“I bet this beats jumping out of airplanes.” Vanessa turned and smiled at me as her beautiful blond hair blew all over the place. When I was in the Air force she hated what I did, which is why I didn’t reenlist. I didn’t want to put her through constant worry, and I wanted to spend as much time as possible with her. We had dreams together, dreams that would mean close to nothing if I were gone. Ever since the first day we’d met I envisioned us together doing exactly what we were doing now.

            “Anytime I’m with you, it beats anything else I’ve possibly done.” I turned and kissed her on the cheek. It was true; she was the one thing in my life that I cherished with all my heart. We were going to have the life we had always wanted; a quiet little beach house right on the California shore. I could already see our children building sand castles on the beach in a couple of years.

            “The first thing I’m doing is hitting the beach, unless you want…. To you know, break in our new bedroom.” She turned and winked at me. Her blue eyes were stunning, and even out of the corner of my eye they captivated me. That’s what I reeled me in the first time met her. I remember looking down into those eyes and feeling just that she was the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.

            “As long as we break  in the spare bedroom too.” I said with a smirk on my face.

            She giggled, “I’m up for the challenge, but you not so much.” She said and then laughed at her own joke.

            “Nice one, but that cut me deep, It kind of hurts.” I said as I put my arm around her and pulled her closer to my side. Her warmth was unbelievable and I felt like the luckiest man in the world.
