Several people have grown up around horses. Many can say there are times when my saddle saved my life. This story just tells how the kind of saddle that hasn’t been made for years did that favor for one young man.

Saddle Saved My Life Deep Seated
Bob’s grand father owned an old deep seated saddle. Them old style saddles have a tall saddle horn tree with a tall mantel behind it. The light brown saddle had been used by a state military force. That was one reason the stirrups were covered. Those stirrups were made like that to keep the rider’s boots from sliding all the way through them. That way no cavalry man or cowboy would get drug along after being unsaddled. That is why some cowboys could say the saddle saved my life as they got back up off the ground. The cowboy boot would never get caught in the stirrup making some young cowboy a wild horse victim. Why did flat seated saddles get developed?
Saddle Saved My Life Bareback Horse Riding
Bob was able to learn how to ride bareback while just in grade school. Even though the deep seated saddle was available to him it was too heavy to lift up onto the back of the young mare he got to ride. Bob was never able to say the saddle saved my life when the mare stopped sharply. He just slid over her neck onto the draining ditch road. Bob just tended to curse wildly when his body hit the ditch bank he was ridding on. The lack of the deep seated saddle never made Bob give up riding any horse. Why isn’t grabbing the mare’s main the same thing as grabbing a saddle horn?
Saddle Saved My Life Saddled Advantages
By thirteen years old Bob was able to pick up riding in his grand father’s saddle. It was always made available while his father and uncle were out team roping. Bob got strong enough to saddle some mare and took advantage of it. He wasn’t bothered a bit by the small narrow saddle seat. Riding to the local convenience store in that saddle made it a lot easier to get remounted after the soda pop was purchased. The deep seat actually made it easier to ride no matter how many dogs got out chasing him. Bob’s reflexes got so quick that every time the young mare gave his some trouble the saddle saved his life. Bob could quickly lock his knees under the saddle horn tree. Bob could stay mounted on the horse through just about any thing. Why aren’t cowboys supposed to be grabbing onto the saddle horn to keep from being bucked off?
