A fun, whimsical, fiction story that is sure to amuse all who read it.

“Excuse me,” Abby said, confused. “What is this ‘Experiment GF34?”

“Oh, I didn’t tell you the story yet.” Professor smiled and laughed, then cleared his throat. “About thirty years ago, several other scientists and I started a genetic engineering project. The goal of the project was to engineer a fruit that was gold in color, and grew on a tree small enough to fit in a garden, so that people could enjoy their beauty and taste. We started crossing all sorts of fruits, pretty much every one known to man. Then, when we crossed the banana, and pine apple, then the product with a mango, we had success,” Professor Meltin extended his hand toward the trees, “The only problem was that the fruit we had created, or Gold Fruit 34, couldn’t be reproduced because for some reason it has no seeds—but apparently I have been proven wrong!” He laughed again in joy.

Then Chief Delta chimed in, “We arrested Mr. Ferner because when the science scheduled for the fruit to be destroyed, someone stole it. We suspect it was him.”

So Mr. Ferner, who at first wouldn’t cooperate, finally gave in and told the story about how much he wanted to grow the fruit and export it to foreign countries. The day after he stole the fruit, he knew the police were looking for it, so he buried it until he could get back to it after the search. When the search ended two weeks later and he went back to get Experiment GF34, it had grown into a tree. Mr. Ferner was so happy he took some fruit from the tree and buried them in rows, creating a field of gold fruit trees. Then he built a gate around it to keep animals, and people for that matter, away.

Luckily for Mr. Ferner, instead of going to jail, he only had to pay a fine. A huge fine, but wealthy Mr. Ferner had no trouble paying. Soon the science team announced on a worldwide television channels that the new genetically engineered fruit, the MBP (mango, banana, and pineapple) would be available at almost all supermarkets and garden depots in a matter of eight weeks. As for Abby, she quit being a maid and became a botanist under the supervision of Professor Meltin, where she studied plants and live out a happy life.
