A cowboy happens on to something like he has never seen before.

A dusty cowboy comes riding into town,

On his  horse ,barely  limping, with a matted mane.

Neither look like they have had a bath,

Since this  last years last  Texas rain.

He brings his horse to a halt,at the Silver Dollar Saloon.

With a little jingle in his pocket

And 21 days of dust in his throat.

He plans to soothe this parching soon.

He stepped into the bar with a smile on his face.

But the people in the bar did not appear to be of the human race.

With holes in their ears, and paint  on their arms,

It was nothing he remembered seeing ,

Were they actually  even human being?

Horrible banging, and screeching noises emitted from a strange machine.

The cowboy had to admit, this is no place he had ever seen.

Not really understanding the theme of this place ,he headed  for the back door.

Sitting on a big black covered space, something confused him even more.

Big,strange, creatures sitting in rows ,space by space.

They even had a strange kind of roar.

He knew they weren’t horses, but they appeared vicious and mean.

The only thing he could figure,is they were some type of machine.

The cowboy, not knowing what else to do,after the sights he had seen in this bizarre saloon ,walked through the back door of the saloon, past all the noisy creatures, and machines. The cowboy walked out the front door of the Silver Dollar Saloon, after drinking the coldest beer he had ever had, mounted his horse, and headed back out to the dusty prairie, and the life he understood.

Excellent read! My favorite part, well on of many favorites was the 21 days of dust….I loved that. My take is that he went into the future. I think he looked at the future, saw it for its potential, enjoyed a cold beer and then simply went to what he knew and loved the best. NICE!
