The soul taker is a story about the fate of an orphan boy named Arthur. His mother sell his soul to Nefarious, an ungodly sorcerer who uses black magic just to grant every wish. Find out what happens to him after he tried to befriend the black sorcerer just to have the hands of his beloved Jamie and what will he do just to save his only son.

The Soul Taker

A long time ago, there was an ungodly sorcerer who had a black art in witchcraft and spells. He could grant any wish you desired to have but in return you have to trade your soul to him. One wish is tantamount to one soul. The villagers were afraid to him but temptation is like a devil that pushes them to hell. “I am Nefarious; you’re neighborly buddy in times of your midst, shout my name and I promise I’ll be there, any kind of wish you crave for, only me demand; just give me you lost soul”. During this melancholic event, there was a poor widow who bore a son named Arthur. She was badly sick and was only counting for the last days of her life. She cried and tears fell as she cuddled her son in her arms knowing that she will be gone shortly. As soon as her child fell asleep, she put him down on the bed and covered him with blanket to make him warm. Afterwards, she went into their small altar, lit up her last candle and bent down on her knees and prayed. “Lord God, have mercy on me, I am just a poor old widow with an innocent son who doesn’t know about the cruelty of this world yet”. Tears fell again on her cheeks as she uttered these words. “I am not ready to go with you and leave him alone, if only I could sell my soul to that wicked Nefarious”. There was a certain silence around the place. She looks stunned about what she had said. It’s really not her intention to speak his name, yet her mouth deserted her. Knees were shaking as she grasped for the courage to stand and walk away from the place. Just before she turned around, she heard a husky voice from nowhere.

“Who are you and what are you doing in my house?” she asked anxiously as her eyes try to find out where the voice came from. “My lady, have you easily forgotten what you have said a while ago from you’re God?” the voice said. “Nefarious!” she replied as her eyes widely open. “Yes I am, turn around and don’t be afraid. Like I said, I’m everyone’s buddy in time of midst, you said my name and as what I have promised, I came here, any kind of wish that you crave for lady, only my demand, just give me your lost soul”. His voice was a bit stronger this time that it echoed around the four corners of the room. The baby woke up from his sleep and cried. The widow ran and grasped him immediately around her arms. “I never called you, only my mouth did because she betrayed me. I don’t need you’re help and my soul is definitely not for sale, go away and leave us alone!”. “My poor lady, all your life, you have been living in this state. What do you expect from a tongue who wants to taste the pleasure of success? Your son needs you but you will be gone to soon, your God can’t help you this time. I could see the future of your child with me. Do not hesitate, stop your agony, and make a wish my dear”. The widow paused a break and immediately thought about the wizard’s idea. “If you really want my soul, I will wholeheartedly sell it to you, but you have to grant me two wishes” she challenged. “I admired your courage for disputing my regulations, yet your soul is not as special as your son, I can see his future with me. He can be my alliance. I’ll grant your wishes if you agree that I’ll be the father of your son. He’ll know my existence on the right time. Don’t ask for more, it’s my last offer.” As he put his hands on his chin he slowly caressed it. The woman thought that the wizard is right and so she agreed. She wished about her son’s fortune in life. “Since you will take my soul, my son should have a new family that will take care and love him, you will only appear when he’s on the right age. Second, you should provide him all the knowledge and talent he deserves”. She added strongly

This is an interesting story though I will have to revisit it due to its length. Now I have a question for you. Does Nefarious hold claim to the babies soul is that what he meant by he would be the childs father?

Good story. I’m sorry I missed it earlier in the year. I’d love to read part 2.

Be careful of your editing. You repeated a paragraph on page 2.
