I had no other go but to take such a decision for the cause of others.

When the summer season began, the charmness associated with the drumstick tree was gone. Its leaves got ripened and became yellow. Ripened yellow leaves fell from the drumstick tree. However, since the branches of the leaves have spread far and wide, the ripened leaves were also shed in the neighborhood; the yellow leaves were also spread out in the houses situated in the next door as well in the house situated just at the backside of the compound of my house.
Adding insult to the injury, the drumstick tree also had innumerable centipedes and millipedes; of them hundreds of millipedes and centipedes were also shedding at the neighbor’s house, that caused untold misery and sufferings to the neighbours.
The neighbors began to murmur and complaint.
‘Sir, don’t you know that the boundary of the your house ends at your compound wall?’ It was my neighbor.
‘Sir, I can’t follow what you said.’
‘How long should we bear it or how long should we clean it? Can’t you prevent the shedding of these leaves, millipedes and centipedes, from your drumstick tree? It is not fair on your part. Our children are having all sorts of troubles and sufferings. They have constant itching. Daily we have to engage a sweeper separately for an hour to clean the leaves, millipedes and centipedes. However still our children have been suffering. We have to consult a dermatologist ‘
The owner of the house situated at the backside of our compound also put forth the same complaint.
Once again there was a meeting at the hall of our house.
‘Dad, are we doing it wantonly? It is only seasonal; can’t they bear it for a few weeks?’
‘Why should they? Why should their children suffer the itching caused by the centipedes and millipedes that fell from our drumstick tree?’
‘Dad, I have got a solution, we can get rid of centipedes and millipedes completely by applying a solution of soap water.’
‘Ok, how to prevent the shedding of dried leaves?’
‘Don’t we have our own rights? Are we not entitled to have a tree of our own without any complaint?’
‘I am sorry my son, on the pretext of enjoying your right, you cannot remain reckless and care a fig for others rights.Your rights end at the tip of your nose.’
We finally decided to cut the relevant branches of the drumstick tree that outstretched to our neighbors area.
However, still the problem remained unsolved. Wind played its own havoc and frequently dumped a heavy amount of dried leaves at the neighbor’s houses.
My neighbors had become even more vociferous in their complaint.
‘You should at any cost prevent this nuisance. Otherwise, you may have to face the consequences.’
Now I was not willing to consult any of my family members. I knew how much they liked and support the cause of drumstick tree. I had come to a conclusion.
The next day morning my entire family woke me up from the bed.
‘Dad… Dad haven’t you seen what happened to our drumstick tree. It’s gone once and for all.It has been felled. Only the felled trunk remained on the earth my son was almost breaking into tears.
‘I had no other go, calm down .. my son.. calm down.’
My entire family relapsed into silence throughout the day. I didn’t know how to comfort them.
They also did not speak with me.I felt as if I was ostracized from my family.
A few days passed by.
I was huddling in my easy chair.
“Dad,.. Dad …my daughter ran towards me..she was very much elated.
She simply dragged me towards the backside of my house.
‘You see, our drumstick tree once again has come alive.’
She pointed out something. I looked at it.
Yes, a new sapling has grown from the trunk of the felled drumstick tree. My joy knew no bounds.
My whole family relapsed into a happy mood once again.
