In "The System", you can do anything you’ve ever imagined and more! It’s a completely realistic world in cyberspace where we spend most of our time outside of reality. The question is: Is our reality real and therefore, is The System?
The System: Part One
A spinning-roundhouse to the jaw and then quickly teleporting to a squatting position on the opposite side of his opponent, as he’s spun around from the impact of the kick, gave Dade the perfect window for a series of punches to the ribs. This was enough to stun Wick momentarily, drag him into the next room at super-speed and tether him to the ground. Now, Dade finally had Zephyr all to himself, but he had to act quickly if he wanted to take his enemy out of commission long enough to finish his plan.
Avi, helplessly tethered to the wall due to the Reality Physics Engine being engaged in the room where she has been trapped, yells to Dade with fierce encouragement. Hearing this, he gets that determined look on his face that the hero of every story always gets right before they defeat the bad guy; you know the one. But what Dade didn’t realize is that Zephyr had an “Ace” up his sleeve…
It is twenty years from now, and the world of the future is far beyond what anyone had ever imagined possible. Robots, flying cars and spaceships all exist, yet are merely novelties compared to everything else that has come to be. Telekinesis, super-strength, super-speed, time-travel and teleportation are just a few of the incredible abilities that people now have. The catch is that this all exists only in a virtual reality world known as The System, where people spend most of their time living and working now. Imagine the most futuristic looking world that you can think of, and you won’t even be close.
The days of dragging yourself out of bed and driving your car or taking a cab in rush hour traffic to get to your job in the big city are a thing of the past. Gone are the times when you had to worry about being late to work so that you could get your children on the school bus safely and still have time to stop for a coffee. No longer are people getting shoulder-checked on the overcrowded sidewalks of New York City or creating lane-closures on I-95 just because they weren’t able to drive and talk on their cell phones at the same time. Now you simply wake up, eat breakfast, lie back down and “Login” to a completely realistic world in cyberspace.
