In this short story, the ancient parable is rewritten in modern scene. This story reminds us to always learn and make better development with something that we have.

Once upon a time in 21st Century, before traveling abroad, a boss distributed 3 USB flash drives to his three staff. To one he gave USB Flash Drive with 2-GB (Giga Bytes) storage capacity; to another, flash drive with 1-GB storage capacity; and to another one, the one with 4-GB storage capacity. The Boss asked them to save the information they loved and considered important to their flash drive. Then the Boss went on his journey.

The staff, who had received 4-Giga-Bytes USB flash drive, gathered the commercial break clip, pictures and music from Internet and saved the information into it. The staff with 1-GB USB flash drive searched the articles through various websites and saved them into his flash drive. The staff, who had received 2-GB USB flash drive, worried about virus infection. He was afraid that the virus would infect if he saved the data into his flash drive. So, he decided not to save anything into his flash drive.

After one month, the Boss returned to the office and called his staff to get the report. The staff with 4-Giga-Bytes USB flash drive returned the flash drive to his Boss.

“Boss,” he said, “you entrusted me flash drive with 4-Giga-Bytes storage capacity. You can see that I have saved commercial break clip, pictures and music in it.”

“Bravo!” the Boss replied, “you can use these files of picture, clip, and music to get inspiration to make our product promotion. You were faithful over a few things; I will give you opportunity to manage many things”

The staff with 1 Giga Byte USB Flash Drive said, “Boss, I like reading and writing so I save some articles in it.¨

The Boss replied, “Well done! The articles, which you saved in your flash drive, can give you idea for our company improvement. You have been faithful over a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.”

The staff with 2 Giga-Bytes USB Flash Drive said, “Boss, I know that you are hard man and perfectionist. I am afraid that I put virus in this Flash Drive so I do not save anything.”

“You are so lazy,” the Boss said angrily, “You are not risk taker, you do not any interest about anything, and you have so many phobias. You did not use the tool that I entrusted to you. You are too afraid to step forward. You are supposed to take risk to get improvement. However, you have chosen not to do anything because you were too afraid. You did not use something, which you have, to improve yourself. It is not about how many things you have but it is about what you do with something that you have. You do not improve yourself because of your laziness and worries. So, you are fired.”

This story is modern version of Parable of the Talent, which was told by Lord Jesus Christ.
