WHERE IT ALL STARTED
continued… Chapter 1
I remembered everything as I got older.
I was eighteen years old to be exact, that I had my first and only dream of my father.
Some how it all came back. I remembered everything about him. When I was younger I could not remember
anything, then as I got older it all came back. I forgot how he looked, or how he would take me and Katrina on taxi runs with him and how he always tried to keep us together. He would say you two are my daughter’s and you are sister’s no matter what no one says. I could not recall anything at all for years. I even use to ask my mother questions like, How old was he when he died. How did he look? What was he like, and why can’t I remember him. Is there something wrong with me, I would asked. Do I not have feelings. She would say Telly, do not play dumb like you do not know nothing. I then would say I really don’t remember Ma.
Until that day or night I should say that I had that dream of my father. I was nine years old when he passed away.
I was eighteen years old when I had this dream he was wearing a white suit and he was sitting down. He was in so much light it was really bright. He was reaching for me, as I was walking closer to him he got further and further away. I woke up just like that. When I was thinking about what I had dreamed. I yelled Ma, Ma. She runs into the room. What Happened? I remember, I remember everything about my father. She said damn Telly, you scared the shit out of me. I thought something happened the way you screamed. I started describing the dream cause some how everything was all back.
I started thinking back to when I was a little girl, and how much fun we use to have. How my mother hated him and, oh yeah I had a sister named Katrina. I haven’t seen her since the funeral. I decided to contact. Years have gone by. I am getting older twenty nine years old and I have a son his name is Te-da~ I had him when I was twenty four. That is another chapter by itself.
