A light and cheery writing about the little things in life and how very important they are!

I opened my eyes this morning, and found that I was looking straight into the beautiful blue eyes of my little girl.  She waved at me and said, “Momma”.  What an amazing blessing that was!

I was drinking my first cup of coffee this morning when my little boy got up and stumbled sleepily into the room.  His eyes actually lit up when he saw me and he grinned his silly little grin and hugged me tight.  What an amazing blessing that was!

I was working on an earlier article about an hour later, and one of my grown-up sons came over.  The little ones both ran to him.  My little boy started telling him about how he was a super hero, and my little girl raised up her arms to him for a hug, and said, “Up please?”  What an amazing blessing that was!

Another hour into this incredible day it was time for my little girl’s nap.  She’s not too very fond of these, which of course is normal with a toddler.  So, I sat on the bed next to her, and she snuggled up to me as she fell asleep.  It broke my heart to move after she fell asleep, but seeing her angelic little face at rest once I stood up healed it right away.  What an amazing blessing that was!

Since my daughter was sleeping and her big brother was watching some cartoons, I decided to take the opportunity to set up my office.  I’ve been working out of my bedroom for the past several days, and I really needed a place just for work so that when I’m done, I can walk out the door and really be done with it for the day.  So, I rearranged some things and my little laptop desk that I type at is now in front of one of the windows in what was once a formal dining room.  As I sit here writing this, I look out the window and see lilacs blooming, honeysuckle climbing my fence, the most beautiful old white oak in the distance, and alfalfa waving in the wind.  I can smell the mingling scents of lilac, honeysuckle, and clover.  It’s the smell of home to me.  It is so beautiful, and I am daily amazed that such beauty exists.  I call it my place, but it’s truly God’s place, and I am so very blessed to live here!

Often I get so tied up in getting things done, that I forget to count the tiniest things among my blessings.  I simply overlook them.  The big blessings are easy to spot, and when someone asks me how I’ve been blessed in life, those are usually the things I rattle off to them.  But, these tiny ones are so very important.  I hope you’ll take a moment after reading this and look back on your day, and count the tiniest blessings in your life

As always, I look forward to hearing from you, my readers.  You are all a blessing in my life too!  Please feel free to leave a comment for me below.  I do my best to get back to everyone every day.

It made me cry. Because before I read this..I had just back from walking down to the edge of the bay..and watching the sunset..in all of it’s glory. Truly a beautiful sight to behold.
As I sat there..I told God, how very much I appreciate all of the small things..that are taken for granit evey day. Not really by choice..but by the hustle bustle of life. This was the 1st time in a long time that I sat..still..quiet..and content ..just be be in his presence. You never know when your life can drastically change..or be taken away. This is it. Our one chance..to LIVE…ever how long..or short our life may be. We need
to grab it by the horns..and ride it to the buzzer. Because all any of us ever have is 8 seconds.

I hope they were happy tears. I sat out on my back porch today and watched the kids dig dirt up out by our old oak for starting seedlings. Chuck was sitting in a chair, and I was on the porch leaning against him, with his hand on my shoulder. I couldn’t help but think how perfect life was at that very second. Nothing else mattered. We all need to be in that place more often, because you’re right. We all only get one chance.

Here are a few of my favorite time quotes for you:

But what minutes! Count them by sensation, and not by calendars, and each moment is a day. ~Benjamin Disraeli

Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you. ~Carl Sandburg

Much may be done in those little shreds and patches of time which every day produces, and which most men throw away. ~Charles Caleb Colton

Tandrea, I must say how very much I can feel your emotions in your writing and I applaud your spelling, punctuation and the beauty in your words.

Thank you so much for your input Patricia! I know that you are a published author yourself, so your comments are especially important and helpful to me. Also, as we’re family, and that’s mostly what I write about, your comments are special to me as well.
