Part four.

The next evening, Wade was sitting at the desk trying to get paper work done but it wasn’t working. His mind was on his children. He still couldn’t believe it. Twins. He had twins.

There was loud noises coming from outside. He got up to go see what was going on. He stepped out on the porch to see his dad jumping out his truck grinning from hear to hear. There was a horse trailer hooked on the back of the truck.

He heard another vehicle coming up the road. He looked to see Sally May’s car flying up the drive stopping next to his dads truck. He was very happy to see her, just like he did years ago.

She jumped out the car looking worried, “What? What happen? What’s wrong? Who’s hurt?”

“No one. Where are my grand kids?” His dad looking happy and proud.

She turned around and pulled open the back door to the car and bent in. A few minutes later both kids were out of the car looking at their grandfather with worry.

“Wait there.” He walked around the trailer and opened the door.

He came back with two ponies. The twins jumped up and down all excited. Clapping their tiny hands.

“Buck, tell me you didn’t?” Sally May scold playfully.

“I most certainly did.” He said proudly.

“It goes perfectly with what I got.” Rosie said.

She went and got something out of the truck. When she came back she plopped a cowboy hats on each of the kids heads.

“I can’t believe you two.” Sally May said.

She looked over at Wade. He stood there grinning from ear to ear. He walked over to help his little girl up on her pony while his dad helped his son on the other. They walked around for a while letting the kids get use to them.

Wade turn around to look for Sally May. She and his mom had disappeared. The kids were getting restless so his dad and he took the kids off.

“Ok. It’s time to put them up. Let’s go pick out a stall for them. Then we need to brush them.” He told them.

“Brush a pony. Do I have to share?” Shelly wanted to know.

“You don’t like sharing?” Wade asked.

“We always have share everything.” Jacob said, “She’s a girl. I’m a boy. I want boy stuff.”

Wade and his dad tried not to laugh. They showed the kids how to brush the ponies. Then they put them in their stalls and also showed them how to feed the pony’s. After that they went up to the house. Were they had started the grill and here some burgers and hot dogs on there a long with stakes.

“Well, I see you two already got things going. Sally May, how is your mom?” Buck asked.

“She should be out of the hospital in a couple more weeks. She wants me to reopen the dinner. I’ll be doing that as soon as I find some one to watch the twins. I can’t run a dinner and watch them to.” She told him.

Wade could help but smile. His dad had away about him that everyone just seamed to open up and say more then they wanted to.

“I’ll do it.” Rosie spoke up.

When Sally May open her mouth to say something. Rosie spoke up quickly, “I had nothing else to do all day but clean house. So I can watch them. That way they get to see their ponies and learn how to ride them.”

“In that case I should be able to reopen Monday.” She gave in.

“Are you ready? Don’t you need to place a order to get in more food?” Wade asked.

“I already did.” She said.

Soon some of the food was ready and the ranch hands were showing up. They sit down to eat.

That’s great. What a better gift to give to young twins…ponies. Cute story. Out of a shaky beginning for these lives, life can evolve into beauty. Good dialogue.
